₹200 Crore Approved for Patna Metro Priority Corridor Operations
The Patna Metro Priority Corridor will now receive a major boost with ₹200 crore set to be spent on its operations and maintenance. The Bihar cabinet has approved the proposal to hand over this responsibility to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Operations are expected to begin in August 2025 and continue through March 2028.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary shared that the total estimated cost for this period is ₹179.37 crore. Additionally, three-car trainsets originally built for Pune Metro will be leased for use on the Patna Metro route.

Unified VAT Rates on CNG–PNG
To benefit small gas users, the cabinet approved a uniform VAT rate on CNG and PNG for both domestic and commercial sales. Earlier, tax cuts were limited to urban distribution networks with sales under 50,000 MTD, but now this relief will be extended more broadly.
4 Acres for Kendriya Vidyalaya in Hajipur
The government has approved the free transfer of 4 acres of land in Bari Yusufpur, Hajipur to the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The land will be leased at a token value of ₹1 for 30 years, renewable later, for the construction of a new Kendriya Vidyalaya campus in Vaishali district.
ROB Approved in Purnia
To ease traffic congestion between Ranipatra and Purnia railway stations, a Road Over Bridge (ROB) will be constructed in place of Level Crossing KJ-13(M). This will improve road and rail connectivity in the region.
4 Doctors Dismissed from Service
In a separate administrative action, the cabinet approved the dismissal of four doctors for professional negligence:
- Dr. Chandana Kumari – Manjhaul Subdivision, Begusarai
- Dr. Kritika Singh – Lakhisarai PHC
- Dr. Nimisha Rani – Jamui Sadar Hospital
- Dr. Kriti Kiran – Halsi CHC, Lakhisarai
