The ongoing special voter list revision campaign in Muzaffarpur has gained momentum over the past four days. Out of 34.86 lakh voters in the district, over 15 lakh voters have been verified so far, and 35% of the verification forms have already been uploaded to the Election Commission’s portal.

The campaign, which began on June 25, will continue until July 26. Officials aim to complete verification for all registered voters across 3,481 booths in the district.

Recognition for Outstanding BLOs

District Election Officer and DM Subrat Kumar Sen announced that 55 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and supervisors who performed exceptionally will be honored with appreciation certificates. Five BLOs will be selected from each Assembly constituency.

The announcement was made during a meeting with political representatives. Local MLA Niranjan Rai and leaders from various parties were present.

Action Taken for Negligence

While praising good performers, the administration also took strict action against negligence:

  • Three teachers were suspended for carelessness in voter verification:
    • Raj Kumar Das (Kudhni)
    • Ramesh Kumar Mishra (Musahri)
    • Mrityunjay Kumar Singh (Marwan)
  • One Tola Sevak’s salary has been withheld
